Servants of the Cross proceeds from a model of evangelization and conversion of the individual, the married couple and the family—then on to the renewal of the Church and the transformation of the world. read more
Servants of the Cross is a missionary company of men and women, originally from Ohio, who now live in Reynosa, Mexico, which is in the diocese of Matamoros. We are lay Catholics: married couples; consecrated women-- and also one priest. After serving on the border region just across the river from McAllen, Texas for thirty years, we have developed in many ways due to the Lord’s faithfulness. Our main focus is the renewal of Catholic family life according to the teachings of John Paul II and the spirituality of St. Francis de Sales. The essence of this call is founded in the conviction that from the Cross of Jesus Christ comes the power to be able to live as the Lord intends the family to live– in communion of persons, as a reflection of the Trinity.
We see our tasks as primarily the following:
i.) to be teachers of family life;
ii.) who are committed to building a culture of life and love;
iii.) to have a special concern to help the young enter their vocation in the service of the Church;
iv.) and to present renewed families to the Church.
