To celebrate the anniversary of the birth of St John Paul II, one hundred years, we had big dreams. What about a Mass for those in residence at El Rancho Nazaret at his very shrine, in the shadow of the great saint—would that be appropriate? Would that be wonderful to celebrate with John Paul II looking on? Everyone agreed it would be inspirational and would feed our longing for the Bread of Heaven during this long Eucharistic desert.
As it unfolded, the bishops of Mexico issued guidelines for celebrating the Sacred liturgy and the Sacraments the day before, on May 17. We sought permission in the diocese and it was granted since we were outdoors. Being such a small group, social distancing was not difficult. So we were able to pray for the whole movement, whose principle patron is John Paul the Great.
Be not afraid Seguidores de la Cruz, the Lord’s love for you is true, His plan for you is sure.
