Fr. Honorio joyfully celebrated one year as a priest last month on the 22nd of February. The following day he was among the Seguidores de la Cruz at our 8:00 Mass. He asked for the opportunity to celebrate Mass with us and was assured, nuestra casa es tu casa (our house is your house).
Presiding as the main celebrant, Fr. Honorio inspired us to reverence and communal self-offering. The angels and saints, who always accompany the Sacred Liturgy, had a few Seguidores in the Church Triumphant front pews. Families and Solteros (Single men and women) alike, prepared a lively celebration bursting with love and joy beginning after the final blessing. A banner was presented with messages and offerings of a spiritual bouquet.
Several married couples, who began to attend courses with Honorio when they were all single and seeking their vocationn, honored Padre Honorio for his faithfulness to the Lord and to us. His friends from that generation of Solteros have remained close in friendships and support for one anothers' vocations. Several of the couples had children in arms and toddlers as they came forward.
Sitting in front of the congregation after Mass, Padre Honorio receives the poster with notes and offerings of a spiritual bouquet.
Lucero, one of the current single women spoke up and gave thanks for Fr. Honorio's faithfulness to the Lord and to us. He is a living example giving us hope for our own vocation.
We all prayed a blessing over Padre Honorio led by Padre Tim who concelebrated the Mass.
Fr. Honorio recounted how he learned of the personal vocation and how to hear the Lord's calling through the Solteros courses and the men and women of Seguidores de la Cruz. He honored Don Ricardo (Dick Herman), our founder who passed away in November of 2017, for helping him to open up to the grace of his calling and for supporting him through his formation.
Seeing the couples, new life in their children, and the joyful young priest put a prayer in everyone's heart for continued blessing and fruit from Seguidores de la Cruz to continue to strengthen the Church.
