We celebrated the Solemnity of Corpus Christi on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday, according to the original calendar. In many diocese of Mexico the Bishop retains the Thursday observance. Many of the families of the mission were able to participate in the rites and procession in their home parish.
Nonetheless, we formed a procession at El Rancho Nazaret the following Sunday. The festivities allowed everyone the opportunity to reflect on the presence of Christ in the Holy Sacrament and to express with their own families such a solemn and joyful act of faith.
Our main guitarist and choir leader, Sister Casey was participating in an extended conference in Houston, so the mantle was taken up by Hector, who has been teaching many young students to play the guitar. He and his wife Rosa Isela have been serving with great love and a grateful heart, even though she has a debilitating disease which affects her balance and her eyesight. They are models of making a sincere gift of self to the Lord and his people.
Hector and RosA ISELA (far right) lead the singing during the procession.
