On February 22nd Padre Honorio was ordained for the Diocese of Matamoros. We who are Seguidores de la Cruz are proud of him and consider him one of our own, since he came through the ranks of our Single Men & Women's group (Los Solteros).

After his ordination Fr. Honorio was transferred, from the parish in Matamoros, Our Lady of Saint John, where he had been serving as a deacon, to Our Lady of Guadalupe, which graces the central downtown plaza of Reynosa. His pastor, Padre Jose Luis Serra, arrived quite recently as well. Fr. Honorio was able to fill in as celebrant for the Sunday Eucharist at El Rancho Nazaret while Padre Tim was out of town on two successive Sundays in late February and early March. What a delight for all of the Families, Youth (called Jovenes, 15-16 years old) and Solteros who are accustomed to forgoing the Mass when Padre Tim is absent. A service of the Word with a Eucharistic celebration is provided, but the Holy Sacrifice usually has had to be forgone. For several years there have not been enough priests to cover for one another's' absences for Sunday celebrations.

Honorio squeezed us into his very busy schedule as a gesture of love. He admits that he considers returning to Seguidores de la Cruz is, for him, coming home.
